Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I'm Nicole Masson, the recipe developer and creator of Fresh Apron. I live just outside of Boston with my longtime partner, John, and the sweetest cat, Juliet.
You’ll quickly learn that I have a passion for all things food and cooking. Especially bright, colorful meals!
My goal with Fresh Apron is to share easy, everyday recipes that you’ll enjoy making and love eating! I’m hoping this inspires you to make something new and experiment with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs.

A Little Background
I grew up eating well balanced meals (which sometimes started with dessert first!). My mom was always in the kitchen cooking or baking. So naturally, I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember!
After graduating college, I really started to get creative in the kitchen, experimenting with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. This is when I learned that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated or time consuming, and that’s how this blog came to be!
Fun Fact: We have been container gardening on our patio for years. Since we live right outside of Boston, outdoor space is limited. We’ve found that we can still grow tons of fresh produce from Spring through Fall.
Some of the Things We Grow: spinach, kale, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapeños, green onions, carrots, and sugar snap peas. As well as fresh herbs like basil, cilantro, parsley, and dill.
Features
Fresh Apron Recipes have been featured on websites like Parade, MSN, Kansas Living Magazine, Prime Women, FAQ Kitchen, Inspired By This, foodgawker and Trivet Recipes.
I've also created many recipes for brands like Wyman’s and Pure Flavor.
Frequently Asked Questions
My favorite recipe on Fresh Apron is Rainbow Orzo Salad. I make it all summer long to enjoy as lunches for the week, or a side dish for cookouts. It also happens to be the most popular recipe on here!
On Fresh Apron, I mostly share recipes using seasonally fresh produce. Many of the recipes are healthier, although you may find some that are not, because I believe life is about balance.
I knew I wanted to focus mostly on creating recipes that included fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. That's where the "fresh" came from in the name. I also wanted to make sure it was a shorter name that people would remember; a name that reminded them of cooking and being in the kitchen.
